A functionality identity

I was asked to design a logo for the new Channel 4 CMS system. Named PIPE for some reason I couldn't work out I decided to visualise how the system worked for the logo. The way channel 4 web pages are created involved putting certain elements together to create a 'slice'. These slices could be made of a column elements either 1 and a 2 element, a 1, 1 and a 1 element or a 3 element. These scenarios were represented by the rectangles - 2 column element and the squares - 1 column element. The colours were options an editor creating the page could use and the font is Channel 4's standard font.
