EA Sports Football World: adidas sponsorship
With a potential to reach other six million football fans who buy EA Sports Fifa every year, adidas was approached about sponsoring a new competition section. The general idea of the game was similar to fantasy football where you pick a team and then points are scored through your players performance.
Initially the idea was to take some of the largest football brands in the world which currently had adidas sponsorship, Chelsea, MLS (because Beckham had just joined) and Real Madrid and brand the site in their colours using IP tracking. However as football is so tribal a decision was made to actually help promote a specific adidas product instead of a sponsored team.
The new adidas Predator was chosen and I received the assets from adidas and created the pages for the competition.
